The Times of India Group, India’s largest media conglomerate together with The World We Want, a global social impact enterprise, have co-conceptualised the annual SDGs Impact Summit, taking place on November 15 & 16 in Taj Palace, New Delhi, with the mission to curate a truly global platform of global change makers committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Summit is also one of the first major events for the Global South to take the reins on creating world-oriented solutions addressing the SDGs.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The 17 SDGs are integrated—that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Through the pledge to Leave No One Behind, countries have committed to fast-track progress for those furthest behind first. That is why the SDGs are designed to bring the world to several life-changing ‘zeros’, including zero poverty, hunger, AIDS and discrimination against women and girls.
We are launching SDGs Impact & Innovation Hubs in 10 States. These would be a combination of the best and least performing States.
Stimulating visionary talks, debates and bold analysis will mix with impact-oriented projects, challenges, and strategies.
A search for the next generation of leaders committed to steering the global changes we wish to see by inventing tools and curating ideas.
