Q1. How do you describe SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)?
Answer: I would describe the SDGs as a template for the important issues of our time to guide us in our policy making and actions in the pursuit of reaching a sustainable outcome for all on this planet.
Q2. How likely Indian consumers will accept these goals and work towards achieving Agenda20 30?
Answer: As an non-Indian, I can only share that the SDGs have always had a lot of local resistance in terms of adoption due to entrenched policitical, economic and social interests. It may be the same for India as it is for other countries.
Q3. Which goal(s) are you (or your organization) advocating?
Answer: I am advocating an UNIVERSAL RIGHT TO HOUSING which defines that it is a human basic right to be able to have decent, safe and healthy housing that is affordable and sustainable for every person on our planet.
Q4. SDGs have been there since 2015. They are gaining momentum in India & the World. How important it is to developing public – private partnerships at scale to deliver progress in global development?
Answer: Public Private Partnerships uniquely bridges policy and commercial needs, which helps to create windows of opportunities to apply the goals of SDGs.
Q5. Please share your vision & thoughts on our initiative ET SDGs Impact Summit. How important do you think is the need of organizing such summits?
Answer: SDGs requires a wide spectrum of stakeholders to understand them in-depth, find common goals with other stakeholders to create windows of opportunity to make real impact. Therefore summits on this topic are essential to bring stakeholders together.
